Final exam- Photo composition

This photo of a broken clock shows simplicity. The clock is against a clear background, there is nothing in the background that might distract to viewer. All the attention is brought towards the clock.
This photo of a small monkey on a girl's neck s creating depth. The photo creates depth by blurring the girls face a little bit, which draws more attention to the monkey biting her ear.
This photo of Mitt Romney is using the rule of thirds method. Romney is against a clear stated background with no distracting objects. He is also not directly in the middle of the photo which makes it more interesting.
This photo of a royal soldier is creating depth and avoiding mergers. The photo creates depth by blurring the background behind the soldier which brings all the attention to the soldiers face. It is also avoiding mergers because the soldier is clearly appears to not be connected to anything else in the photo.

FInal exam- Written portion

This photo of a drug dealer who was shot and killed was taken today by a local photographer. The photo was taken around 10 in the morning today, the gunman who is believed to be Rick Johnson was killed during some gang violence late last night. Photo journalist Ryan Phillips was on the scene and snapped some photos of the deceased gang member.
This photo was taken yesterday(December 16, 2013) around 11:30 pm, it was captured by photographer Phil Jackson who was attending a local bonfire celebration. During the celebration a man riding a white horse rode the animal through a large flame, both the man and animal are ok, and made for a great photo.
This photo taken of a rare rhino being air lifted was taken today in Africa. Photographer Jose Hernandez captured the picture because he believed it showed how close the rhinos are to becoming extinct and the measures we have to go to, to keep them safe. The rhino is being transported to a national park where it will be cared for and hopefully breed more rhinos.

This picture of a raid on a home in Miami, federal agent John Smith finds Cubans Jose Garcia 6, and a man who helped rescue him after the boat they used to get into the country capsized. After the officer quickly detained the two, the child was later sent back to cuba with his father.

Three pillars of exposure

Aperture
1.The eye
2.The smaller the aperture the less light gets in. The larger the aperture the more light that gets in.
3.The size of the aperture affects what in the picture looks sharp and what looks blurred.
Shutter Speed
1.a)High speed
   b)Medium speed
   c)Medium speed
   d)Slow speed
   e)Medium speed
   f)High speed
2.a)Slow speed
b)Slow speed
c) Slow speed
d)Slow speed
e)Slow speed
d)Medium speed
3.There is auto mode where the camera sets the aperture and shutter speed. In Aperture priority mode you set the shutter speed and the camera sets the aperture. In shutter priory mode you choose the aperture and the camera chooses the shutter speed. In manual you set both aperture and shutter speed.
Slow shutter speed

High shutter speed
ISO
1.You don't need to use a flash, and it takes the picture quickly
2.Use the low ISO when there is light to get the best detail, if you use it at night and try to capture a fast picture its going to look like a ghost.
3.Use a high ISO when there is dim light and you are trying to capture a fast moving image.

App quick write

If I could make an app it would be an app that when you download it, it gives you a special number that you can call and your phone emits a loud ringtone in case you leave your phone on silent. It'd cost a dollar.

Quick write 'best wildlife photos'

These photos involve more than just African animals they are also not in black and white. I like these photos better, they just look better to me and more exciting

Mural Project

We could like make a mural thats about eagles and their lives. Eagles are interesting creatures they are awesome and they are our mascots. The advantages of using a phone camera will be that we can carry it wherever and we all have one, but the camera isn't very good. SlR cameras are really good for taking pictures but they are a pain to carry around. What camera we use doesn't really matter to me.

About the black and white africa photographer

He used a Pentax 6711 with two fixed lenses.
He wanted to show these animal in their simple state of "being"
He hopes to show the animals true nature and take these photos before they go extinct
He says africa is a beautiful and wonderful place and its a shame that its vanishing before our eyes

Favorite africa photo

I like this photo because of how its just one lion laying under a single tree. It looks empty and as if he's the only one there. This photo uses the rule of photography of avoiding mergers because the lion and tree are separated and it has a clear background.

Reaction to Africa power point

The pictures showed the majestic and magnificent animals of africa. It showed me that those animals are amazing, and the black and white made the pictures seem kind of like sad. I liked the power point

Photo manipulation and ethics

The story gives you examples of instances that certain people have used photoshop or other photo editing tools to change photos. They used these tools to make some things like missiles appear to have more smoke or for there to be even more than there were originally. They also use photoshop to edit out people to make stuff like politics to seem worse than they really are. I consider this to be unethical because you are altering the truth and making people believe something is worse or better than it really is.
This one is the least offensive they just moved the pyramids closer together to make it a better looking cover.

This one was the worst on the page because they included a black student just so it seems they are a diverse school. Muy racist

Three of the 40 greatest photos ever

I picked this photo because the D-day battle was a very iconic battle of WWII and I find it interesting. I like how the picture is taking from inside the boat kind of from the view of a soldier. This photo made the cut because its showing the war and the brave soldiers who stormed the beach head on.

I picked this photo because i found it interesting how the guard takes the balloon but kind of doesn't show any facial recognition of it. I like how the picture kind of has the repetition of the soldiers then just one small white balloon. It made the cut because it shows even though its like a police barricade the little kid can still get through.

I picked this photo because its just a great photo  it shows the entire Earth from space and how it looks and that only half of  it is lit. The picture uses simplicity to bring all the interest to the Earth. Well it obviously made the cut because its such a unique picture of the Earth from space.

Selfie quick write.

Well the girl is disrespecting the whole religious thing by standing up while all the other people are bowing down praying. And she's also using her phone to take a picture of herself. No me gusta

Avoiding Mergers

The American flag in this photo is not near anything else so it does not look merged with anything. The flag is on a clear background and has all attention going to the flag.

Lines

The diagonal rays from the sun coming down over the building draw attention to the buildings, the clear sky and the sun. It also makes the photo appear calm

Rule of thirds

The main focus of this photo is the army hummer, using rule of thirds shows the important part of the photo off center which draws more attention than if it was directly in the center.
